Who we are
Masina Funeral Service (MFS) is a proudly South African funeral service provider, based in the heart of the Pietermaritzburg CBD. We were established to serve this community with compassion, to carry the burden of arrangements so that families can focus on healing and remembering.
We are fully registered, and we are committed to upholding the cultural, religious and traditional values of every family we serve, with the utmost respect. We are a single funeral home, not a national chain, and that is deliberate: it means the same people handle your family from the first call to the unveiling.
Our founder
MFS was founded by Misumuzi Nkanyiso Qoma, our Managing Director and founder. The company was established to bring dignified, affordable and honest funeral services to Pietermaritzburg and the areas around it, at a standard the community deserves.

What we own and run
Because we handle families ourselves rather than sub-contracting, we keep our own capability close: mortuary vehicles for collection and repatriation, a hearse and family cars for the day, and full venue setups, tents, chairs, sound and catering, for the home and the service. Our branch is a real place you can walk into, at 146 Pietermaritz Street in the CBD.
